Meet Chef Mike

One of Chef Mike’s earliest memories involves standing on a stepstool, wearing an oversized apron,
and cooking alongside his mom and grandmother. Fast forward years down the road and he found
himself with a career in the automotive field, but knew his heart was still in the kitchen. He quickly
adjusted course and enrolled in GRCC’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education program.

Chef Mike’s first culinary career was spent studying under some of the best and most talented chefs
Grand Rapids has to offer. He quickly rose through the ranks of Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager and
finally to Executive Chef in Ada MI, cooking for some of Grand Rapids most elite Families. Chef Mike
then took the helm at Peas and Carrots Hospitality’s first Grand Rapids eatery, Social Kitchen and
Bar. After many successful years, Chef Mike decided to relocate to Social Kitchen in Birmingham.
After falling in love with Lake Orion, Chef Mike decided to move into town and start his dream lake
front restaurant.
